Safety Standards Certificates
Ontario Safety Standards Certificate inspections on site
A Safety Standards Certificate confirms a vehicle met the minimum safety standards set by the Province of Ontario on the day it was inspected. It is required when you register a used vehicle in your name, bring a vehicle in from another province, or restore a rebuilt vehicle to the road.
As a licensed inspection station we inspect brakes, steering, suspension, tires, lighting, glass, wipers, exhaust, the fuel system, coupling devices and the body and frame. If something does not meet the standard, we explain what is needed and quote the repair before any work begins. A certificate is only issued once the vehicle meets the standard — we never guarantee a pass.
Rideshare drivers
Uber and Lyft vehicle inspections — $85
Qualifying Ontario rideshare drivers must have their vehicle inspected and provide a valid Ontario Safety Standards Certificate. We inspect rideshare vehicles at our Kennedy Road shop and issue the certificate when the vehicle meets the provincial standard.

Where are you located and when are you open?
We are at 1271 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1P 2L4. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments help us reserve a hoist for your vehicle, especially for safety inspections. Call 416-642-2838 or request an appointment online, and we will confirm a time that works for you.
Do you inspect Uber and Lyft vehicles?
Yes. We inspect rideshare vehicles and issue an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate when the vehicle meets the standard. We are an independent shop and are not affiliated with Uber or Lyft.
Will you explain the work before you start?
Always. We inspect, explain what we found in plain language, and give you a written estimate. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
