How long is the certificate valid?
An Ontario Safety Standards Certificate is valid for 36 days from the inspection date for registration purposes. Confirm current provincial requirements before you plan around it.
What if my vehicle does not pass?
We give you a written list of the items that do not meet the standard and a repair quote. Nothing is repaired without your approval, and you may take the vehicle elsewhere.
Does an inspection guarantee a certificate?
No. A certificate can only be issued when the vehicle meets Ontario's requirements at the time of inspection.
