Built for drivers who needed a shop they could trust
CANPAK AUTO started with a simple problem: reliable, affordable car care was hard to find in Toronto.
Across Toronto and Scarborough, drivers kept running into the same wall. A used car needed a safety certificate before it could be plated. An oil change was overdue. Brakes were starting to make noise. Finding a shop was never the hard part — finding one that gave a straight answer and a fair price was.
CANPAK AUTO opened on Kennedy Road to close that gap: routine maintenance, repairs, diagnostics and Ontario Safety Standards Certificate inspections in one place, with the inspection done first and the estimate explained before anything is repaired.

A message from our CEO
Long before CANPAK AUTO opened its doors, I was the person friends and family called whenever something went wrong with their car. The story was almost always the same. Someone needed a safety certificate for a car they had just bought, or an oil change before a long drive, or a brake job they had been putting off — and they had no idea who to trust with it.
What I kept hearing was not that people could not find a shop. Toronto and Scarborough are full of shops. It was that drivers could not find a place that treated them fairly: an estimate that changed once the car was on the hoist, repairs added without a phone call, or a quote so high it forced someone to choose between fixing their car and paying rent that month. Newcomers, students and rideshare drivers had it hardest of all, because a car is not a luxury for them — it is how they get to work.
I opened CANPAK AUTO on Kennedy Road to be the shop I wished those people had. We inspect first, explain what we found in plain language, and give you a clear estimate before anything is touched. You approve the work. If something can safely wait, we tell you so, even when that means a smaller invoice for us. Because we are an Ontario-Licensed Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, safety certificate inspections and the repairs needed to meet the standard happen under one roof, without sending you across the city.
Affordable does not mean cutting corners. It means honest pricing, doing the job properly the first time, and never selling you something you do not need. That is the promise I make to every driver who pulls into our bay — whether it is a five-minute question, a routine oil change, or a repair that keeps your family safe on the 401.

How we work
Every visit follows the same order: we listen to what you are noticing, inspect the vehicle, then explain what we found in plain language. You receive an estimate before any work starts, and nothing is repaired without your approval. If something can safely wait, we tell you that too — and if we cannot recommend a repair in good conscience, we say so.
What we do
CANPAK AUTO handles routine maintenance, brakes, tires and wheels, electrical and driveability diagnostics, steering and suspension, heating and air conditioning, engine and drivetrain service, and provincial safety inspections. Because we are a licensed inspection station, we can complete an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate inspection and any repairs required to meet the standard in one place.
Who we serve
Families and commuters across Scarborough, drivers arriving from Markham, Pickering and Ajax, people buying or selling a used vehicle, and Uber and Lyft drivers who need their vehicle inspected and certified. Small business fleets use us for planned maintenance so their vehicles stay on the road.
What we will not do
We do not sell repairs you do not need, quote a price we cannot honour, or promise that a vehicle will pass an inspection before it has been inspected. A Safety Standards Certificate is a statement about the vehicle's condition on the day of inspection — not a warranty and not a guarantee of future reliability.
