What Toyota owners should watch for
Hybrid systems need different attention
Prius, Camry Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid brakes often last far longer because of regenerative braking, but calipers can seize from lack of use. Regular caliper service matters more on hybrids than pad replacement does.
Water pumps and coolant
Several Toyota four-cylinder engines are known for water pump seepage as they age. We check for pink coolant residue at the pump and thermostat housing during maintenance.
Oil consumption on older 2AZ-FE engines
Some 2007–2011 Camry and RAV4 engines consume oil between services. If yours does, we recommend checking the level monthly rather than assuming the interval covers it.
Rear brake wear on RAV4 and Sienna
Rear pads on these models often wear faster than owners expect, and rear rotors corrode from limited use. We measure all four corners rather than assuming the fronts wear first.
